Hazardous Area Chemical Injection

Chemical injection in hazardous areas demands equipment rated for the high pressure, corrosive environment, and operation in explosive atmospheres. The RCP Glycol Injection Unit delivers reliable high-pressure chemical injection using an air-operated double-acting pump, ATEX certified for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous area installation, with stainless steel construction throughout and full integration with RCP well control and high-pressure monitoring systems.

Glycol injection failures at critical well control moments carry significant operational and safety consequences. The RCP Glycol Injection Unit uses an air-operated double-head dual-acting (DHDA) pump to deliver infinitely variable high-pressure liquid flow up to 21,596 psi from standard rig air pressure.

The DHDA pump stalls at a predetermined pressure and holds it without consuming power or generating heat — providing a proven low-maintenance solution for continuous or emergency injection applications in hazardous offshore environments.
